This is a really hard book to rate. Parts of me would have like to give it 4 stars, but parts of me want to give it 1 and throw it down a cliff. It's just really really wierd like that. It's a good story, and it's fairly well written, and I kind of like the romantic angst. But there are several things about it that just really grate on my nerves.
For one thing the main character is apparently too gorgeous to be true, and is fawned over by everyone, but it's done in first person, and we're supposed to believe that he is mostly oblivious to his own charms. ITS SO BIZZARE!
Also it flits about so much, with about a dozen new random characters every page, old friends and new, but most of them don't appear to matter to the story to him :S
Anyway. wierd.
